Congregational Care

About Us

Congregational Care is a partnership between lay and clergy that enables St. James Alpharetta to provide a more consistent and deeper level of care to our church family.
The Ministry of Congregational Care is deliberate in connecting members of the congregation with the Pastoral staff during difficult times and when our presence or support is needed. We refer to ourselves as “911” or the First Responders, with the goal of responding within 24 – 48 hours of hearing of a need.

Our Vision

The vision of the Congregational Care Ministry is to be Christ-centered spiritual ambassadors, in partnership with the Pastoral Leadership by embracing each family in their time of need.
Scriptural Support:

  • Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone – especially to those in the family of faith. Galatians 6:10 (NLT)
  • Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12 (NKJV)
  • Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. II Corinthians 1:4 (NIV)
